What is the goal of therapy?

That depends on you. Therapy is meant to be a confidential, supportive, and welcoming space for you to address your needs and concerns. Together, we will work to help you identify your goals and create a plan for treatment.

What should I expect for my first session?

During your first session, also known as an intake session, we will review your submitted intake paperwork, and I will answer any questions you may have about the process of therapy. We will focus on identifying your goals for therapy and creating a plan for progress. First session appointments are 50-60 minutes in length. However, most subsequent sessions are 45-50 minutes in length.

How long will my therapy journey take?

Therapeutic journeys are unique. The length of your therapeutic journey is multifaceted. Your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are prompting you to seek counseling should be accounted for.

What is self-pay?

Self-pay, also referred to as cash pay, means that you are responsible for the entire session fee at the time of service. Currently, cash, credit card, and HSAs are accepted.

Why self-pay?

Therapy is a deeply personal experience. Self-pay allows you to control your care. Self-pay helps ensure that clinical decisions are based on professional expertise and not managed care policies.

Can I use my insurance?

Chelle Brown Counseling is a self-pay practice. Insurance is not accepted. However, a superbill can be provided at your request.

What is a superbill?

A superbill is an itemized list of services and is submitted by you to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. That rate of reimbursement is dependent upon your insurance carrier. To determine if your insurance will cover services, contact your insurance carrier to ask about the process for submitting a superbill, the coverage rate for out-of-network providers, and any deductible requirements.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes! Telehealth offers effective and convenient therapy services in the comfort of your personal environment. A HIPAA compliant virtual portal allows for telehealth therapy in a safe and secure manner.
